Got my flowers .....

Well the day finally arrived .... yep, my Wild Orchid over the top flower order was delivered this afternoon and of course I couldn't wait to get in and play/create with them ....
The result is the above card which I'm feeling kinda proud of.  I apologise for the quality of the photo - I wanted to get it onto my blog before one of the challenges ended and I couldn't find the right light.  I printed out my digi stamp onto SU! kraft cs and then used my prismas and solvent to colour and I'm sure you'll admit that it is pretty darn awesome!  Now I wish I could take credit for this brilliant idea but I must admit I saw a card from a member of a DT from a recent challenge (when I find it I will post a link to it) and thought it was gorgeous - very "vintagey".

I'm going to get ready to go off to bed now so goodnight and I hope you like the card.

Ciao

Another day, another card .....

Good morning to you on this miserable, wet and dreary Autumn day .... I don't think the weather really knows what it wants to do ... rain or not rain??  Not the best way to start the new term for the kidlets and Isabella has cross country tomorrow so let's hope it clears up by then because she's really looking forward to it.  A girl I know is a running coach and has been giving Bella some hints and tips on how to win so let's see how that goes lol.

So, onto today's card .... I coloured this gorgeous "Some Odd Girl" image some time ago wanting to enter it into a monochromatic challenge but never got around to doing it so she's been sitting in my 'to use' stash waiting for some inspiration to strike.  Then this morning I realised that I had 3hrs to get a card made and entered into a challange I wanted to enter and suddenly it all came together based around this image ....

I've also kept the card monochromatic so now it's off searching for monochromatic or blue challenges to enter it into as well.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you like the card ... I will be back at some stage pretty soon with Bella's best friend Libby's birthday card (Happy Birthday Libby - a big 8 years old today ♥) but until then ....

Ciao

Pink and Sweet

Yep, here I am again with another card for another challenge .... I am so happy with where my 'mojo' is at at the moment and I'm going to enjoy it while I can.

I absolutely love this stamp Kissie Mae, from Some Odd Girl  - She is so much fun to colour and I must admit that I am a little obssessed with all things "Odd Girl" ...

So this is the card that I'm going to enter into the Crafts and Me Challenge #31 Pink & Sweet.

I originally made this specifically for the sketch challenge at Party Time Tuesdays Sketchy Tuesdays #12 Challenge but when I went to link it I had just missed the deadline by minutes .... aaarrggghh .... I was sooo happy with this one too :-(.  Oh well, at least I had a lot of fun making it and it filled in a couple of hours.

I must give a shout out to my friend Vicki, who ran a class on how to colour with prismas using Copic marker techniques and it has made a HUGE difference to how I colour and has got me REALLY wanting Copics now - my gosh does the expense never end lol?

Close up of colouring
Another shout out I really need to make is to Ooh La La Creations for their freebie digi paper that I downloaded (which made Gray one happy Hubby lol) and gave me the inspiration for this card - Thank you :-).

Well that's it from me .... thanks for stopping by and until next time, Ciao.

Anzac / Easter Monday Fun

Wow, I'm enjoying this little run of 'mojo' and am going to enjoy it while it lasts. It certainly does help to have such awesome challenges to enter though.

I wasn't sure that I'd manage to get this card made and image coloured today - we were up at 4am to head off to the Anzac Dawn Service and I didn't get much sleep last night (always the way when you know you have to be awake so early lol).  I managed to grab a "Nonna Nap" for an hour or so when we got back (until the very low flying jet made it's way over our house .....) so decided to be productive for the rest of the day and rather than do housework I chose making this card instead LOL.

Anyway, this is to enter into the Pollycraft Monday Challenge, (amongst others) which is a vintage theme following a sketch by Maria as well.  I had so much fun challenging myself with this one coz I really do love the whole vintage/shabby chic thing but I can't always get my thoughts onto the card!!  I will say it again though - I CAN"T WAIT TIL MY WILD ORCHID FLOWER ORDER GETS HERE!!!

Pollycraft Vintage Sketch by Maria Challange
So, Happy ANZAC Day / Easter Monday to you all.  I hope the Easter Bunny had some eggs left for you after he'd been to Maryland and that you're not lying in a chocolate coma lol.

Happy Good Friday

April Showers bring forth May flowers
Hello again - and so quickly too ....

I hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing Good Friday and that you're enjoying all that yummy seafood.

I've just finished this card which I would like to enter into the Crafty Calendar Challenge "April Showers Bring Forth May Flowers".

I've been pretty literal with this one .... I've used my CC Designs, Swiss Pixies, 'Heidi among the flowers' stamp as well as my handmade roses for the May flowers part and then I've been even more literal and cut out some clouds and used my Bella 'raindrops' falling from the clouds.  I thought I was being clever anyway lol.

A closeup of my handmade paper roses
I hope you like the photos I've used, I played around in photoshop so that I could put a closeup of my handmade flowers and not have the distraction of the background and then I thought "Why not do this on the card photo too" ... Let me know if you like it or whether I should leave the card as a straight clean image.

So, I'm off to make some yummy lemon prawn pasta for dinner so until next time, Happy Easter.

It's been a long time coming I know ...

Hi there friends and followers,

I know I've been a stranger of late and I really don't have any excuse for it - although I have been sick with this 'flu/virus' thing that I seem to get around this time every year.  Each and every wonderful day seems to fall into the next and before you know it another week is over and so is another bunch of challenges.

It's school holidays as all us Mums would know and it's really hard to keep the kidlets occupied but I've definitely found a way for Isabella ... I've introduced her to colouring stamped images with crayola pencils and baby oil and has filled many an hour doing this while I try to keep my mojo flowing (not always successful mind you lol).  I will take some photos of her handiwork and will post as a separate post within the next couple of days and I'm sure you'll be just as impressed as I am (or maybe I'm just biased? lol) ....

So anyway, here's my entry for the DYSU (Do You Stack Up) Scallops Challenge #15 and I must say that I'm reasonably happy with my effort - I just wish that my slightly over the top flower order from Wild Orchid Crafts would hurry up and arrive so that I can make my flower arranging prettier .... I love making my own little roses but am restricted to this size and it makes it difficult to arrange.

Oops, I've just remembered that I used these particular colours so that I could also enter this into the Sweet Stampin' Chocolate Challenge as well as Moving Along With The Times Challenge #94 mmm Chocolate. Interpret that anyway you will and I've decided to go with my two favourite flavours of filled chocolate - strawberry and peppermint - mmmmm yum yum .....

So, that's enough rambling from me, it's now 11.30pm and I'm ready for bed.  Hope this finds you all well and fighting fit.

Let me introduce you to Some Odd Girl's "Dressy Kaylee".  Isn't she just gorgeous?  I made this card for my daughter, Isabella's 8th birthday and decided that I would enter her into the Some Odd Girl Pleat Something Challenge as well as Little Claire Designs Pink & Green Challenge.

I'm using prismacolour pencils and odourless solvent to colour my images and I think I am slowly but surely getting the hang of it lol.  I hope you like it - I love pink and green together it's very pretty ... and you can never have too much glitter right?  (I hope you can actually see it on her hat & skirt ...)
