It's just plain Redonkulous!!

Well I'm finally back! Wow I don't know where the time goes ... It's so funny someone will ask "Whatcha been up to?" and I'll reply with "Been so busy but couldn't really tell you what with!" I remember my Mum always telling me to stop wishing time away becaue one day you will realise how fast it really does go and you will want it to slow down ... Too true ...

Anyway, now that netball season is over all we have to concentrate on is Miss Bella's dance and cheerleading concert at the end of November (with just about every Sunday in October taken up with rehearsal!) and her busy and very hectic social life ... Tough for some lol.

So, onto today's offerings ... I found this awesome digi shop a little while ago called Redonkulous Designs and they have some of the cutest and cheekiest images I've seen ... When I found them on facebook I couldn't wait to buy some and get colouring.  As per usual I manage to colour and sometimes make a card but hardly ever seem to be able to get them onto my blog!

Well Redonkulous are having their first challenge and I really wanted to get this card onto my blog to enter.  The stamp is called Birthday Kisses and you can buy it here.  As I was searching for challenges a couple of days ago to try and inspire me I found the challenge at Dream Valley that was perfect for this card ... It's "Something Old, Something New" and while my Redonkulous image is pretty new, the paper and the chipboard sentiment that I used I have had in my stash for well over 18 months!!

Looking forward to being back in the 'blog saddle' on a more regular basis ...

So until next time
Ciao

Yep, I'd say the Mojo is Back ...

Hello again from me in chilly old Newcastle, Australia ....

Can you believe this?!? My mojo has come back and I'm enjoying it while I can ... It's probably all the time I've had to blog surf while I've been trying to look after my blasted broken toe!!  All that inspiration has tweaked the creative part of my brain he he ...
So, I've had this Kenny K image coloured for a few weeks now and really wanted to be in a creative frame of mind/mood when I made a card with her ... I'm glad I waited coz I'm kinda happy with the way the card has turned out ... What do you think?

I have been going through a phase of distressing all my coloured images with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink all over them to kinda 'dull down' the colour. I'm loving it ...

I've followed the sketch over at Deconstructing Jen for this card and was inspired by the photo over at Cupcake Inspirations have found a few other challenges that I will enter her into ...
I've flipped the image 90 deg right
But for now I'm off to bed ... Hubby is already there watching the Tour de France and the deal in our house is that while 'The Tour' is on and he wants to watch it in bed I have to get a back rub to help me fall asleep ... gotta luv that lol ...

So until next time
Ciao
Julie

PS:  I am going to take a better photo of this in the  morning with natural light coz this photo does the card no justice ... It looks sooomuch better in real life ...

Red, White and Blue ....

Just a quick post tonight ... Got to be up bright and early for Miss Bella to be at netball at 8.15am and early Saturday mornings are soooo hard ... It's freezing cold but so worth watching Missy Moo play, score goals and do her little "yeah, I got a goal" dance lol ...

Anyway, I really wanted to get this card posted for Sweet Stampin's challenge this week ... "Use the colours of your Nation's flag" ... These are colours that are definitely out of my comfort zone but I persevered because that's what challenges are all about aren't they?  So I definitely wanted to get it finished, photographed and on my blog before I head to my nice artificially heated (electric blankets ... gotta love 'em lol) bed ...

Hope you like the card, I think it turned out reasonably OK and until next time,
Ciao

Pretty in Lilac

Well, school holidays are over ... it's first day back and this is my first post of this school term ...

I am soooo very excited because I got my Wild Orchid flower delivery late yesterday afternoon and after I checked off my items I counted up how many flowers I actually ordered and am (only slightly) embarrassed to report that the total number of flowers ordered was .... drum roll please .... 2020!!  Yep I said 2020!!  Slightly OTT I agree but soooo worth it lol.

I made this card last night and said to my husband "It's amazing what a little flower inspiration can do to get the creative juices flowing" ...

I just love these Saturated Canary images by Krista Smith ... As much as I love them and love colouring them I find some of them quite difficult as they are so detailed but I am always happy to give them a go lol.  After colouring this sweet girl the card just came together in a monochromatic theme and I have found a number of challenges that she will fit into perfectly.

I hope that those of you whose children are back at school this week are enjoying the peace and quiet and find a little time for some well deserved crafting lol .... I know I will ...

Thanks for visiting, please leave a comment if you feel like it
and until next time

Everyone's had a moment like this .....

Hi from chilly Newcastle Australia ... bbbrrrr ...

Dress & Tiara: RV34/32/000 B23/21/000  Boots: E74/71/70  Present:  E44/43/41/40  Hair: E29/27/25  Skin:  E51/50/0000 R21

I coloured this Lilly of the Valley image called "It's my Birthday" and entered it into a facebook competition that they are having and just noticed that their challenge over at Lili's Little Fairies this week is for "Pretty and Pink".

I think we've all had moments where we feel like this or many of us have little princesses who have had moments like this lol ... I know I cananswer yes to both of them ha ha.

I apologise for the quality of the photo ... I just cannot seem to get my pictures nice and bright when I take their photo and the photo just doesn't do the card justice ... I think I'm going to have to do some research into this ....

Anyway, hope you like the card and until next time ...

Third card for the day!!

Oh my gosh .... I don't post for weeks / months and then all of a sudden I'm onto post #3 for today lol.  Well I can blame my hubby and our friend Terry having their birthdays this month and me having the evening to myself because Miss Bella has gone to her friend Jade's house for the night so I'm managing to sit down and post ....

I can't believe how little time I get to spend making cards yet alone posting them on my blog! I can find the time to colour but then trying to find the time and mojo to actually create cards is a different thing lol.

So, as mentioned in previous posts it has been our friend Terry's birthday and also my hubby Gray's birthday and this is the card that I made for my hubby from Bella and myself ...

Bella and I had a big day planned for Gray, with breakfast out, maybe the movies or bowling or just heading up the vineyards, but of course the 'Gods' had a different birthday in mind for Gray ... His birthday fell on a Sunday but I broke my toe on the Wednesday night ... Well it was actually 2am Thursday morning ... I slammed my little toes into the lounge and it was UNBEARABLE ... the pain was soooo intense!! Over the next couple of days I was of course "It's all good, I can still walk on it so I can't have done too much damage!" Famous last words lol ...

We ended up spending the morning of Gray's birthday at the Dr's where she took one look at it and just said very sombrely "Mmmm, looks like you've broken it. You'll need to go and have an x-ray first thing tomorrow but stay off it in the mean time" ... So, we managed lunch and a day spent at home instead lol.  Gray said that for him it was the perfect birthday just hanging out with his girls and having a snooze but I think we have a bit to make up for!!

Anyway, I hope you like the card I made from us ... I was pretty happy with the way it turned out and welcome your comments and feedback.

Until next time, be good and take care of yourself

Happy Birthday Gray

So this is this the card that I made for my Hubby from our trivia group ... It was so much easier to colour the same image for the two guys but in different colours and then design the cards themselves differently.  I had completely forgotten that I needed the cards made for the Friday night until about 3am that morning when I woke in a panic because I had suddenly remembered lol ...

No adventure holiday for us for Hubby's birthday so no travel papers used on this card ... lol.

Hope you are well wherever you are in this big wide world.

Happy Birthday Terry

So our group of Trivia friends had two birthdays to celebrate this month ... Terry and my hubby Gray.
We did the usual and went out for a very yummy meal ... beautiful Thai (nice choice there Gray lol) and I did the usual birthday cards for them ... This is the card that I made for Terry.

Not only is Terry celebrating his birthday but he and his beautiful wife, Bernii, are off to UK/Europe on the 10th for 8 weeks!! What an awesome way to celebrate your birthday .... So, of course Terry's card had to reflect a little of his holiday adventure so I used some yummy Teresa Collins travel paper.

I hope you like what I came up with and a seperate post with Gray's card will follow.

Gorjuss Girl on a Mojo Monday

Well it's Sunday night and here I am with a card that I made today while my cousin was here 'playing' with me ...

I had this Gorjuss Girl image coloured and have been trying to make a card with her for ages with no success ... It didn't help matters that my cousin's puppy loves to chew anything papercrafty (ribbons, flowers, coloured images lol) and she managed to chew the bottom right corner off the stamp before we noticed what she was doing lol!!  I was following the sketch from Mojo Monday but had to end up covering the chewed corner with the flowers to cover it up so I hope it still meets the sketch ....

I am always amazed at the beautiful cards made by cardmakers such as Camilla, Kat and Kylie who seem to be able to add layer upon layer of paper, lace, doilies, mesh, flowers and ribbon and make the most stunning cards ... so today my challenge was to at least have a go and while it is by no means to their calibre I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

I'm certainly going to keep practicing to see how I go .... a personal challenge!

Anyway, I'm off to think about to feed the family so until next time

Libby's First Card Challenge

Miss Bella has got a number of her friends 'hooked' on colouring stamps and making cards and you can often find 2 or 3 of them sitting around the craft table getting creative.

Well Bella's bestest friend Libby has asked me if I could enter her card into some challenges and help her set up a blog ... I haven't had a chance to set up the blog yet so I thought I would just enter it into the challenges using my blog.

Libby coloured a freebie digi image from Meljens Designs called "Bunny Love" because she absolutely loves anything and everything to do with bunny rabbits and just got her own rabbit called "Shadow".  Libby coloured with Bella's Prisma markers and was so proud and happy with herself and her card and I hope you like it too.

Saturated Canary Double Take

Just a very quick post before I head off to bed ...

I just made this card today following the sketch at iSpy Sketches and I must say that as clean and simple as the design is I really struggled with this?!?  I coloured the gorgeous image pretty quickly and then when I went to make the card I really struggled with what to use for my 4 elements on the left side (I challenged myself to not use buttons or flowers!) and then remembered that I had bought this Spellbinders die set ages ago and never used it ... and so the card was created ....

I have to say it's a real "Look Mum, no flowers" card and I really had to think about how I was going to get some girly bling on it lol ... Think the glitter and the rhinestones look OK.

I will hopefully be back at some stage over the next couple of days .... We have a long weekend here in Australia and Miss Bella at a friend's all day tomorrow and sleeping over so hoping to just have some 'play time'.

Until next time

Happy Birthday Nupur - Wee Florist

Well as promised ... I'm back!! ...

I thought I'd share one of my cards that I've made and just have not had a chance to post onto my blog.  This is a card made for Nupur, Miss Bella's friend who celebrated her 8th birthday.

I adore these Wee stamps by Sylvia Zet ... they are so girly and pretty and a lot of fun to colour.  I've coloured her up with my copics and kept the card relatively simple to show off the gorgeous stamp.

I will most definitely be back with some more cards
Hope you like this one and until next time

BLOGGER AWARD

My apologies folks ...
This post has been an awfully long time coming and is well overdue.  Unfortunately life has been crazy busy these last months and we've all been a little unwell too ... BUT I hope this post gets my blogging mojo back into gear lol :-)

I say all that because back in March I was thrilled to be chosen by Kenzie at Kenzie's Kraft Escapes to receive a blog award!!  It's called the 'Versatile Blogger Award'.

I was blown away and it's just soooo exciting!!

So, first up I just want to say a BIG SORRY to Kenzie for the time it has taken me to acknowledge this wonderful 'gift' and then I want to continue on with A HUGE THANK YOU to Kenzie for passing on this award to me ... It really is a HUGE thrill and I don't who was more excited ... me or Miss 9, Isabella lol.

Please head over to Kenzie's blog HERE to check out her work ... I'm sure you'll really enjoy her creations.

Well for this award first ... you have to thank and link the person who has sent you the award, then second ... you have to choose 15 people with either new blogs you have found or older blogs you love to visit and then third ... tell 7 things about yourself ...

Well, I've thanked (and apologized) and linked to Kenzie's blog, so onto step 2 ...

So for my 15 blogs .... There are so many wonderful blogs out there and this award is specifically for new blogs or older blogs that you love to visit .... It's going to have to be a work in progress but here's what I've come up with so far:

Vicki is a friend of mine that I regularly catch up with to 'play'.  We both have a love for copics, stamps (both rubber/acrylic and digi) and for all things goregous ... espescially patterned paper and flowers.  Vicki is an awesome copic colourer and is incredibly modest about her talent.  Vicki is the person who introduced me to the wonderful world of colouring and stamping and I have not looked back.  Go on over and have a look around her blog, you will seriously love her stuff!

Kat is one of the very first blogs that I ever followed and she in turn followed me back :).  I have watched Kat go from a fantastic colourer and card maker to an absolutely fabulous colourer and card maker and has the most amazing talent of embellishing her cards like pieces of art ... Kat is on a number of great design teams and has accomplished this in a realtively short period of time ... Head on over to her blog and you will not be disappointed I promise you.
Cheryl is another of my very first favourite blogs that I follow and another wonderful crafter who creates beautiful cards and always inspires me to get my mojo on lol.  Cheryl is a fellow Aussie and you'll find her blog so worth the visit.

I started following Annie not that long ago and just love her work.  Annie designs for one of my all time favourite stamp companies, Tiddly Inks, and she is very very talented. Annie is one of those people who (unlike me!) who has an eye for colouring with beautiful, bright, bold colours which match her cards to perfection.  I am always inspired by her work and I think you will be too.

I just adore Wendy's cards and designs ... If you want to see some seriously brilliant colouring (espescially of Saturated Canary stamps) then you need to check her out.  Wendy is probably one the most brilliant colourers and card makers I've ever seen and I only just discovered her blog after seeing her post on the Saturated Canary facebook page.  I can say nothing else about this lady except for go and look at her amazing work.
Well ... how could I possibly ignore my beautiful Miss 9 ... Isabella Laura ... who loves to scrap and make cards and just had to have her own blog! Mind you though, getting her to take photoes and post them is another thing. So, if you've got some time I'm sure she would love it if you headed over and left her a comment and/or became a follower ... I think this would definitely inspire her to post more.

Wow! Carly is an amzingly talented young 13 year old girl who not only has her own blog but has her own sketch challenge blog which you can find HERE and is also selling her own digis.  I love that children get involved in such a wonderful activity like craft and that we should support them where we can.  You seriously need to check her out and she is defintely one to watch take over the art and craft world lol.

I have been a fan of Coops (Nic) for ever ... She is incredibly talented and her colouring is perfection.  There are always oooh's and aaaah's from me whenever I check out her blog.  I am a real girly girl colourer and card maker and Coops make me feel that boy cards are achievable becaue she does such a wonderful job on both ... Check her out for yourself.

Wow, is there anyone who hasn't seen this amazingly talented ladies blog??  With over 4000 followers I would find that hard to believe :).  Jacque falls into my 'older blogs that you love to visit' and is seriously one of the most generous, kindhearted and talented bloggers I've had the priviledge to come across and I look forward to my email notifications from her every day.  I am always inspired by her work and I am sure you will be too.

Yet another long term fave of mine.  Delphine is from just outsise of Paris and who doens't love all things French lol ... You will not be disppointed when you vist her blog, she works mainly with copic markers but also uses Polychromos pencils ... Delphine is an extraordinary colourer and her creations just keep  you gasping and wanting to see more.

Honk If You Scrapbook
This is my cousin Heidi's blog that she has just started ... Heidi has been scrapbooking and colouring for ages and I have been 'encouraging' her to start a blog for her creations and to enter challenges for ever :D  Head on over and have a look you won't be disappointed ...

And now for the seven things you don't know about me
(except you Vicki and Heidi lol)

1.  I don't smoke but I love a nice glass of wine ... red, white, bubbly whatever, ... and I really enjoy an icy cold beer or cider on a hot day.
2.  I was born in Australia to Krystyna who was born in Germany to Polish parents during WWII and Angelo who was born in Northern Italy ...
3.  I have a beautiful daughter, who is 9 years old and I absolutely love her to bits through good and 'not so good' times and a husband that loves and supports me no matter what happens :)
4.  We still live in the same house that we built 17 years ago but I have had itchy feet now for about the last 5 or so years ..... Problem is my hubby doesn't have those same itchy feet lol.
5.  I absolutely love to cook and have a "kitchen gadgets" and Kitchenaid addiction ... I have the mixer (with the matching colour bowl scraper), processor and blender (all in red) and am willing my hand held mixer to 'die' so I can get Kitchenaid one lol!! And the kettle and the toaster .....
6.  I love to colour with my copics and make cards but my first love is scrapbooking and I just never seem to be able to spend the time doing it .... Though making a card is sometimes just a mini layout.
7.  I have a real 'savoury tooth' rather than a sweet tooth .... Give me a bag of chips, a cheese/antipasto platter or a really divine main course and I'm in seventh heaven.  Can always skip dessert but will always be tempted by an entree (appetiser) before my main lol .... yum yum

Ok, well this has been a long post and I appreciate the time you've taken to stop and read it and I hope you take the time to go and have a look at these blogs and the others that I will try and add as I think of them or discover them ...
For now though
Ciao

"Thank You" for Karen

Hello there again ... Wow I can't believe I'm here again within a week lol.

This time I've made a thank you card for a friend, Karen.  Karen's daughters, Jade and Gemma went to the same school as Isabella but this year Jade and Gemma changed schools ... Needless to say the girls were devastated and thought their lives were over ... And needless to say that hasn't happened and they are just as best buddies now as they were before lol.

With the girls leaving Karen was left with a double lot of school uniforms from shorts, skorts, dresses, shirts, sports uniform, hats, winter uniform, jacket etc.  One day Karen turned up with 3 huge bags of the uniforms and some of the things were like brand new and never or barely worn! There was so much that Bella would never be able to wear it all so I shared it with her other BFF Libby and we were still left with enough that she can go a fortnight before I have to wash lol ... Karen would not accept any money for the uniforms so I bought her a really lovely candle (Indian Spiced Tea fragrance) from Dusk and made her this card just to say thanks because the words thank you just didn't seem enough.

I've had this Tiddly Inks Wryn image coloured for a couple of weeks now just waiting for me to make a card and this seemed to be the perfect reason to use her.  I found a sketch on C.R.A.F.T which I followed and then the card really seemed to come together from there.  So many of the challenges this week seemed to fit the card so check out below for the ones I'm going to enter this card into.

For Mad for Markers Challenge I used R24/R22/RR21/R20/R00 for dress, R29/R27/R24 and R21/R20/R00 for the hearts and R20 for a little blush

I do want to say that when I've uploaded the photo onto my blog the colours look so washed out compared to how they looked in real life! You can barely see the distressing and inking on all the papers and laces and you can just pick up the kindyglitz along all four edges of the bottom layer of PP but there's nothing I can do about it considering the card has already been given to Karen earlier today ...

Anyway, hope everyone has had a great weekend and the week is not too busy or stressful for you ...

Until Next time
Ciao
Julie

Happy "Mad Hatter" Birthday Trevor

Well folks, it's time for another birthday card .... This one is for our friend Trevor (from our trivia group) and I don't know if I've mentioned before I don't cope with "boy" cards (I think I might say this every time I make one!).  I am such a girly girl card maker ... bling, flowers, pink, lace, pearls, scalloped edges, did I mention pink lol?  Trevor and the rest of the group loved the card and I hope you like it too ...

SO this is my attempt at a "boy" card aged over 9 years lol ...

I must say that this card fits so many amazing challenges out there this week that I don't think I will enter them all coz it's just far too many.  The card follows a sketch from Pixie Dust Studios because I knew I wanted to colour this particular stamp of theirs, "Touch of Depp" all because of the "T" bag in the cup ("T" for Trevor) lol.  Isn't it funny where our mind goes sometimes when creating?

I've used my copics to colour, distressed the tags and my paper with scissors and ink, added a sentiment and some string ... I admitted to the guys that I was sooo tempted to add some girly bling but held back and Trevor was very grateful for that lol ...

CHALLENGES I WOULD LIKE TO ENTER MY CARD INTO:
