Happy Birthday Rayah

Just a quick post with a birthday card that is for our friend's little girl, Rayah, who is turning 4 ...

Rayah's Mum & Dad are Isabella's God Parents and while we don't get to see them as much as we would like to since they moved we still love them all to bits ...

I bought this Pollycraft digi image "Sydney Rodeo" ages ago and have never coloured her! I was checking The Outlawz for their challenges and came across a challenge "Wild Wild West ... Show us some country western style" so I just had to colour her!

Now Rayah is a pinky girly girl so I had to colour her in pinks and browns (coz all cowgirls/boys wear some sort of brown lol!)  I also made a promise to myself that I would use only 'scraps' and things that I've had lying around for ever ... the newest thing on the card are the WOC flowers and the digi stamp (both bought in first half of 2011) and the oldest would be the paper that I've had in my 'scraps' pouch for well over 18m to 2yrs (that's how long it's been since I scrapped and the patterned paper is leftover from a layout) ... whew!  So I couldn't believe it when I saw that Card Makin' Mamas had a challenge "Something Old" where you had to use things that were at least 6m old!

Hope you like it, thanks for looking and until next time
Ciao

Tina's Birthday

Good evening & I hope this finds you well ....
This is the card that I made for my bestie, Tina, whose birthday is actually tomorrow but we got together today with a couple of other friends at one of the local pools with all the kids and hung out and chillaxed for the day ...  The sun had a gosh almighty bite to it though coz even with two layers of sunscreen I still managed to get sun burnt!! Summer is definitely here ....

For Tina's card I coloured the image "Rose's Bike Ride" by Wee stamps (by Sylvia Zet).  All of her images are gorgeous and sooo girly ... definitely a favourite of mine (I say that a lot don't I? lol).  I coloured with my copics and prismas and used Authentique Uncommon PP and kept it nice and simple because of the size if the image and I also just wanted it to be about the stamp.  Tina loved it and even her not quite 5yr old little boy was impressed lol :D

Close Up of Colouring
I just want to mention that I got very excited when I went to the mailbox this afternoon because there was my candy that I won from Irene which was a Magnolia pack (stamp, papers, flowers) so I'm looking forward to playing with them.  Mind you though they were posted in November from Indonesia so it took a wee while to get here ... Now I won't give up on some other "Sweet Stuff"  that I won from Jacque that still hasn't arrived lol.

Anyway, I'm off to enter this into some challenges and try and get my daughter and her friend who is having a sleepover here tonight to settle down and watch a movie ... Wish me luck lol :D

Until next time
Ciao

Sheree's Birthday Card

So here is card number 3 that I managed to make on the weekend.
This one is for our friend Sheree and we'll be catching up with her for her birthday on Friday night ...
Our trivia group of friends have a "dinner club" going where when it's your birthday month you get to pick somewhere for us all to go and have dinner together.  We all own what are called "Entertainment Books" (I think my Australian followers may know what I'm talking about?) and it's basically a book full of fine dining and casual dining (along with lots of other stuff) discounts (buy one meal get one free or 25% off total bill).  It's an awesome way for us to get together to celebrate each other's birthdays and we love to use it to check out what is new and yummy in our local area and get it at a bargain lol ...

We always end up having such wonderful nights with too much food and alcohol but always well worth it :D We don't buy gifts for each other but it's an unspoken rule that I will make a special card and there's always cake (not so unspoken lol).

So, I coloured this gorgeous "In the 20's" digi image from The Paper Shelter and she is so much fun to colour as are all their stamps that I own.  I've coloured her with my copics and prismas and have used Tim Holtz distress ink all over the image.  Some recycled cardboard pulled apart to reveal the corrugated board makes it perfect for the Fab 'n' Funky Recycle challenge and the vintage style makes it perfect for the CES Challenge Vintage Dahling ...

I hope you like it and I will be back with a card that I need to make for my bestie Tina whose birthday is this Friday ....

Until next time

It's a .... BOY ... Welcome Wiliam Charlie

We had some wonderful news this week ....
A friend of mine who has had a really rough 12 months or so has had her fourth child ...
A baby boy named William Charlie, born on Thursday 12 January,
a little early but doing well.
Brenda has two daughters and William makes two boys and they are one very happy little family.  I'm hoping to get to either the hospital tomorrow or visit them at home if she is released over the next couple of days because they are also on the move to the Blue Mountains area due to her partner's posting with the RAAF (Australian Airforce).
A new baby and a new home ...
Phew she has got her work cut out for her that's for sure ...

So, here's the card I made for William
I used Emerald Faerie Garden digi stamp "Ashee" and photoshopped out the mushroom that he was perched on top of so that I could keep the card monochromatic and pop him on top of the "It's a Boy" element.  He's coloured with my copics and prismas and I quite like the simplicity of the card and the monochromatic theme ...
I hope I can find a challenge to enter it into ...
A close up of my colouring

So, this was card number 2 this weekend and I hope you like it.

Until next time

Jayarna Birthday card

Please forgive my absence for the last few weeks or so ... The Christmas and New Year period just seems to get busier and busier with less and less time to do everything!!
I've spent the weekend making cards for various birthday etc and as much as I might plan to sit and do this I hardly ever get the chance ... but this weekend I had to get 3 birthday cards and a baby card made and I have managed all but one birthday card so far ....

So .. this is the first card I 'whipped up'
It's for Bella's friend, Jayarna, who lives next door and it was her 8th birthday yesterday.  I already had the image coloured sitting in my stash thank goodness lol.  I just love my gorgjuss girls stamps and I coloured her with my trusty copics and found some beautiful papers by Pink Paislee called Vintage Vogue that I bought some time ago because I just fell so in love with them ... I've never coloured the right stamp to match them and I'm glad that this one came together so well with them.

I love it when a card just comes together (I did have the help of an old sketch from "I need a sketch") so I can't take all the credit lol.

Jayarna loved it and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out ...
So for now I'm off to try and find some challenges to enter this into ...

Until next time
