Happy 1st Birthday to Nehal

Good afternoon folks .... Hope this Saturday finds you well.  We've just come back from our neighbours daughter's 1st birthday party and thought I would upload the card that I made for her.  It's the first card that I've actually given out coloured with my new copics ... I've been practising, practising, practising and I hope you like my efforts ...

I realised at about 9.30pm last night that I hadn't made the card for the party which started at 11am today (aarghhh...) and nothing that I had already created screamed one year old so I whipped out the copics and coloured in this gorgeous "oldie but goodie" CC Designs / Cupcake Brigitta .... I finally fell into bed on the dot of midnight with the unfinished card sitting on my table waiting to be finished this morning! As you can see I managed to get it done on time and I will admit that it turned out reasonably OK although it does look much better in real life (the colours are much more vibrant).

I have to say that the party we went to was one of the nicest parties I've been to for a long time .... Our neighbours' oldest daughter has become a good friend of Isabella's and they are such a nice family.  They're Indian and the party was full of traditional Indian singing, speeches (most of which we couldn't understand lol) and food  ... OMG the food!  It was vegetarian and I've realised that until you've tried a traditional home cooked Indian meal you've not eaten good Indian food ....

So all in all a great day was had.
Hope you like the card and the little story to go with it and 'see' you next time.
Make sure you check below for the great challenges I have entered my card into.

Ciao
Julie

Too long between cards ....

Good evening folks .... I hope this finds you all well and fighting fit.  I've not posted anything for a while but it's not because I haven't made anything, I just haven't got around to entering them into challenges or posting them. Isn't it always the way though ... life gets in the way and you manage to sit down and colour and sometimes even make a card but to take that next step and get it uploaded is another thing completely lol.

Just a close up of the colouring - Prisma pencils and solvent on Copic paper
So I'm feeling pretty happy with myself because I coloured this image in about a week or so ago but didn't get around to making a card with it even though I had papers picked and plenty of ideas .... So, today I was blog/challenge hopping and found some really interesting and cool challenges and found myself getting my mojo on he he ...

I've coloured a digi stamp called Summer Dreams from Make It Crafty .... Isn't she just the most divine little thing?   I've coloured her with prisma pencils and solvent using one of my new favourite things - nifty little cut n dry brush tip pen nibs from ranger.  I also accidentally coloured her using Copic paper instead of my usual Gina K Luxury Paper or Stampin' Up! Whisper White and I must say that I think the pencils have come up really nice on it ... harder to spread but still fun to do.  The PP is from Basic Grey and the flowers are of course from Wild Orchid Craft ... one of my most favourite things eva lol.

Well that's where I'll leave it tonight ... I hope you like the card and I will try and get my posts done more frequently .... I did say try lol ...

Just one other quick thing though ... My friend Vicki has convinced me to give Copics a go and I have bought a few and have a few more on order ... I also bought a couple of brands of Copic paper to start practicing on so will let you know how all that pans out lol.

Have a great rest of the week .... Ciao

Julie
